Radio Nord Revival testing on the web this weekend

Starting on Saturday, March 3, Radio Nord Revival will be testing on the web. For further details check out http://web.comhem.se/goran.lindemark2/radionord.htm
On March 8, the grand opening of Radio Nord will be streamed as it was broadcast on the same date 51 years ago. Just like we did last year on SW and MW.
We will be back on the air on MW, SW and this time also on a special FM frequency for the Stockholm area on June 30, commemorating the close-down of Radio Nord 50 years ago. Further information will be published in this blog.
There are still a few listeners who have not received QSL cards for the reception reports they have submitted. I regret this but the remaining batch of QSLs will be sent out very soon. The QSL manager recently got back from hospital following a surgery and is gradually recovering. Sadly we have also received a few reports which are obviously faked and they will not be verified. There have also been some reports containing no evidence at all that it really is our station you have heard. However, all correct reception reports will definitely be verified. Thank you all for your interest and your support. We hope you will join us at the end of June 2012.

Radio Nord Revival testing on the web this weekend

This weekend we are testing again on the web. The music archive now comprises around 1 000 titles. We will also broadcast some Radio Nord-recordings including the official start which will be broadcast on Saturday and Sunday (Feb 12-13). We also intend to use our web broadcasts as a feed for the stations wishing to relay our programmes. We use the software Streamerp2p which is freeware. It has a great feature in that the number of listeners is virtually unlimited as each listener share a small part of his bandwith with others. Your comments are highly appreciated!

In order to listen there are now two alternatives:

1. Go to
http://www.streamerp2p.com/index.php?page=howtoinst.htm

Download the file installstreamer.exe. and install it. It's freeware and only 350 kb. It has no ads or spyware. When you have activated the software you will under "List" see the stations currently active. Go to Radio Nord Revival and double-click the name. After a while, sometimes up to several minutes, you will hear us.

2. Another alternative for those of you who are using Internet Explorer.

Here you will find a list of active stations. Find Radio Nord Revival. To the right you will see a blue and a purple symbol. Klick on the purple symbol and accept that a small software is downloaded. In a while you will hopefully hear the merry sound of Radio Nord streaming out of your computer or web radio.

This weekend you can listen to test transmissions on the web which will gived you an idea what it will sound like on 1584 kHz. Just go to http://www.streamerp2p.com/index.php?page=howtoinst.htm , download the file installstreamer.exe and install it. It is freeware and just 350 kb big. Also, it contains no ads or  spy wares. As you start the programme you will see a menu with a list of the available stations.Double-click on 'Radio Nord Revival' and soon you will hear the programme.

As for the preparations for the real life transmissions on medium wave an application has been submitted for test transmission early this summer. We have also  made many new valuable contacts for helping out with the project and we will get back with furher information in the blog as things advances.
